Description
This is #44 ofFamous Monsters of Filmland
, by Warren Publishing, May 1965.
The cover depicts King Kong fighting with a pterodactyl, with artwork by CREEPY artist Dan Adkins
.
This issue includes
Monster that Challenged the World, After Frankenstein, Tarantula, The Daleks Are Coming
,
and a bunch of other regular and issue-specific features.
On my own personal scale, based on knowledge of antiques, paper ephemera, and how good these magazines could look given their age:
This one is a
7.0 FINE/VERY FINE (FN/VF) or 7.5 (
VF-)
. I don't see any glaring problems with this magazine, except for some dents on the front. They show in the photos. No tears, no stains, some minor tanning. There's small paint break on the front cover near the spine. There is one ding in the front cover--it is totally noted.
Famous Monsters of Filmland
is an American genre-specific film magazine, started in 1958 by publisher James Warren and editor Forrest ".Forry" J Ackerman.
Famous Monsters of Filmland
directly inspired the creation of many other similar publications, including
Castle of Frankenstein
,
Cinefantastique
,
Fangoria
,
The Monster Times
, and
Video Watchdog
. In addition, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of FM-influenced horror, fantasy and science fiction film-related fanzines have been produced, some of which have continued to publish for decades, such as
Midnight Marquee
and
Little Shoppe of Horrors
.<--I totally lifted this from another seller's listing.
I'm a highly rated seller and I ship quickly. Please contact me via eBay if you have any questions that the photos or description do not answer. It'll come to you from a smoke-free, pet-free, virus-free house. Thanks for the consideration.
I'll ship using UPS.
I'm wary of US Post Office right now. I've had a lot of mail get lost recently, and I really just think that the USPO, particularly in Chicago, is struggling. We only get mail
delivery every 5 or 6 days. I am not kidding. So, I will ship USPS if you ask me to,
but I'm most likely to ship UPS. The price for Priority or UPS is about the same.
