    Very few collectibles made by the hands of Ray Harryhausen come available since he was very protective of his work and because retained and amassed the world’s largest collection of stop motion props, mostly from his own films.
    Now his collection is managed by the Ray and Diana Harryhausen Foundation, the organization Ray set up to maintain his collection for the enjoyment of generations to come.
    The majority of the proceeds from the sale of this bronze will go to support the ongoing work Ray’s Foundation to perpetuate his memory and protect his collection.

    , a young Ray set out to emulate his hero and Kong animator, Willis O’Brien.
    After meeting Willis and ultimately working for him as primary animator for
    Mighty Joe Young
    , Ray went on to create a roster of fantastic creatures for the cinema that to this day, remains unmatched by any other single special effects master in Hollywood.
    After completing 16 feature films over 32 years, Ray retired from the Hollywood grind and set out to preserve his creations in bronze.
    Some of the creatures Ray immortalized in bronze include his Cyclops, Kali, the Kraken, Perseus and Medusa, and The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.
    A very limited number of these beautiful bronzes are owed by such renowned cinema icons as John Landis and Frank Darabont.

    This solid bronze casting, set on green marble, measures 5 ½” high by 6 ¼” deep and 9 ½ wide and weighs approximately 15 lbs.
