    Description

    PREGMATE Pregnancy Test Strips
measure the levels of the pregnancy hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) in your urine. This hormone is produced by the cells of the embryo that will later form the placenta. The level of HCG starts to increase from its basal level of less than 5 mIU/mL directly after implantation, and doubles about each 48 hours during the first weeks of pregnancy.
    How Does It Work?
When the strip is immersed into the urine, capillary action carries the specimen to migrate along the membrane. When HCG reaches the Test Zone region of the membrane, it will form a colored line. Absence of this colored line suggests a negative result. To serve as a procedure control, a colored line will appear at the Control Zone, if the test has been performed properly.
    Directions:
Immerse the strip into the urine.
Take the strip out after 3 seconds.
    Lay the strip flat.
    Read results in 5 minutes.
    How To Read Results?
    POSITIVE (Pregnant):
Two color bands appear in the Control and Test Zones. It indicates that you are pregnant. The color intensity of the test bands may vary since different stages of pregnancy have different concentrations of HCG. The hormone level increases as your pregnancy progresses. If the results reveal a faint test line, there is a strong possibility that you're pregnant. If HCG is present in your urine, you'll have a positive test result.
    NEGATIVE (Not Pregnant):
Only one color band appears in the Control Zone. No apparent band in the Test Zone. This indicates that no pregnancy has been detected.
    INVALID:
No visible band at all or there is a visible band only in the test region and not in the control zone.
    FAQ:
When to collect urine for the test?
Any urine specimen is appropriate for pregnancy testing, but the first morning urine specimen is optimal because of its highest concentration of HCG.
Can test results be interpreted after more than 5 minutes?
No. Test results must be read at 5 minutes. Though a positive result should not  change  for several days, a negative result may change to a false positive within minutes after the end of the testing period, which would not be an accurate reading. It is always best to read the results at the 5 minute testing period and then discard the test to avoid confusion.
There is much difference between the control lines of two tests. Is this a concern?
No. Variations in the color of the control band will not affect the test result.
A pink background color and vertical streaking appeared in the result area during the testing period. Is this a concern?
No. Each urine sample will vary in its chemical makeup, as will the humidity of the air in testing chamber (room). Such variations  in physical conditions can cause the vertical streaking and/or the pink-rose background color but will  not affect the test results. As long as the control band appears within 5 minutes, the test is working properly.
    CAUTION:
Although you may not be pregnant, it could also be too early to tell. For instance, your urine may not have enough of the HCG hormone to be detected yet. If you do not get your period within 7 days, retest with another pregnancy test. If you receive another Not Pregnant result and your period still hasn’t started, call your healthcare professional.
    Did you know?
The average implantation time is 9 days past ovulation. It takes 2-3 days after implantation for the embryo to make enough HCG for a home pregnancy test to work. That means the majority of women won’t get a positive until 11 days past ovulation.
The accuracy of home pregnancy test results varies from woman to woman. Each woman ovulates at a different time in her menstrual cycle. The HCG levels start to increase from a level of less than 5 mIU/mL directly after implantation, and will double each 48 hours. We do instruct to test the day your next period is supposed to begin, or after, to ensure the HCG hormone has enough time to build up. Some women are able to test 4-7 days before their missed period, however, a majority of women will not have the minimum amount of HCG present in an early pregnancy to accurately test.
How to make sure I am getting the most accurate result?
If you want to test as early as possible, but want to make sure you are getting the most accurate reading, test the day your next period is supposed to begin - you will have a 99% chance of getting an accurate result.
