Description

Here is a beautiful winged fossil fruit from a Cyclocarya brownii, found in Sentinel Butte Formation, Morton County, North Dakota. From the Paleocene, about 57 million years ago.  This was the first epoch after end of the reign of Dinosaurs about 66 million years ago.
The piece is about 2.6" by 2", and it weighs 2.45 oz. This is very cool in that it has a similar appearance to a flower with its petals.  The natural coloration of the plate (no paint is added) is very rustic and charming.
