Fossil Plant Leaf Positive and Negative Green River Formation Wyoming COA 2609

Description

Here is a positive and negative of the same fossil leaf, from the world-famous fossil beds of Fossil Lake, Green River Formation, Wyoming. From the Eocene, 52 million years ago.
The species of this leaf is unknown be me. It is about 2 inches wide. The 2 plates together weigh 11.55 oz.
Whoever cut the plates must not have realized this is a matched set, since they are cut at about 45 degree angles of each other.
These are from the split-fish layer of Fossil Lake.  You take a chisel and hammer, and tap on the side of a piece of rock until it breaks apart. If you are real lucky, you get something like this.
