    Description

Here is a fossil leaf, from the world-famous fossil beds of Fossil Lake, Green River Formation, Wyoming. From the Eocene, 52 million years ago.
It is a virtually compete leaf, over 4 inches long, and it would be longer if the tip were not curled back in. One can see the midrib and a bit of veins.  The plate is large, about 10.3" by 6.7", and it weighs 1 lb. 15 oz. There appears to also be possibly some extra fossil material in the bottom right corner.
