Fern fossil, Neuralethopteris biformis, Pennsylvaniann age 300 million years old

Description

This is a 4" x 3" x 1" Pennsylvanian age, 300 million year old fossil fern named Neuralethopteris biformis with compound leaves of the fern imprinted on a sandy siltstone along with some of the fern stems.  The imprints show great detail and the original plant material is preserved as coal.  This is a species that I do not normally see in this area.  Nicely presented and will make a nice addition to your collection.  This came from a coal mine in Alabama.
