    Near St. Clair, Pennsylvania

This is a HUGE plate of plant fossils from the now-closed location at St. Clair, Pennsylvania. The distinct fossil ferns are preserved as a thin film of white pyrophyllite on black shale - quite striking! The detail of the fossils is very nice, and the individual fern fronds are nicely showcased and naturally spaced on the large plate of shale. There are MANY nice fern fronds preserved on the plate, and
many nice, individual fronds preserved on the back side as well!
This is a very large, extremely displayable plate of classic white seed fern fossils from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania - very impressive!
