    Description

This is a 6" x 3.5" x 1" Pennsylvanian age, 300 million year old fossil of the leaf tips of a Calamites which was a plant that resembled bamboo but is actually related to modern day rushes.  This particular piece shows great detail of the leaf tip along with a frond of the fern Sphenopteris pottsvillea.  Excellent detail nicely presented and will make a nice addition to your collection.  This came from a coal mine in Alabama.
