Description

This is a 6" x 4.5" x .5" Pennsylvanian age, 300 million year old fossil of a Calamites which was a plant that resembled bamboo but is actually related to modern day rushes.  This particular piece shows a flattened full round interior cast of a section of the plant along with some of the original plant material preserved as coal so both sides of this piece show nice prints of the plant.  Excellent detail nicely presented and will make a nice addition to your collection.  This came from a coal mine in Alabama.
