    This Carboniferous Age concretion or nodule is from the Mazon Creek region of Illinois. I believe it is considered a
    Pecopteris arborescens
    or the newer name of
    Cyathocarpus arborea
    .
    This fossil was collected by my grandfather in Wisconsin during the 1950s-1960s. He also collected old Native American Indian artifacts that I have also listed on eBay if interested.
